Job summary

Overland Park Regional Medical Center in Kansas is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Cath Lab Float team. You will coordinate and deliver patient care in the Cardiology Department, administer medications, monitor vitals and EKG, and contribute to data collection and education.

The role requires nursing licensure in Kansas, BLS; ACLS within 6 months; and at least one year of cardiology experience. On-call duties require rapid response within 30 minutes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of school of nursing; Kansas nursing license required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• BLS required; ACLS within 6 months.
• Minimum 1 year cardiology-related nursing experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and team skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and provide nursing care in the Cardiology Department.
• Administer medications and monitor vital signs and EKG.
• Document accurate nursing records and patient data.
• Coordinate patient teaching and post-procedure assessment.
• Be available for on-call emergencies within 30 minutes.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the general direction of the Cardiology Manager, the RN coordinates and provides patient care and assumes individual responsibility and accountability for the provision of nursing care as related to the Cardiology Department. Administers medications, monitors patient vital signs/EKG, and performs continual patient assessment during patient’s stay in the Cardiology Department. Documents accurate nursing records and patient data. Coordinates patient teaching and post procedure assessment. Performs emergency cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Assists with and participates in in-service education. Collects and assembles data for data base, outcome analysis and performance improvement. Must support on call requirements with an expectation to respond to emergencies in less than 30 minutes once notified.

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate of school of nursing required.
• Bachelor’s preferred.
• Current Kansas nursing license required; BLS required upon hire, ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
• Excellent interpersonal and team skills required.
• Basic computer knowledge preferred.
• Minimum of one-year nursing experience in a cardiology related field required.
• Previous cardiovascular laboratory or critical care experience preferred.

Overland Park Regional Medical Center is a 340+ bed facility offering acute medical services to our patients. We are Johnson County’s only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Level II Trauma Center.
