Job summary

Research Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Cath Lab to join our cardiovascular team. You will administer medications, monitor vital signs, and provide direct patient care in a high-acuity cardiology setting within our 585+ bed facility.

You will also document care, educate patients, and participate in post-procedure assessments to support positive outcomes. Our center is part of HCA Midwest Health, serving the Kansas City area with comprehensive cardiovascular services

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Kansas or eligible for licensure.
• ACLS and BLS certification required.
• Experience in cardiac cath lab or interventional cardiology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and provide patient care in the Cardiology Department.
• Administer medications and monitor vital signs/EKG.
• Document nursing records and data accurately.
• Educate patients and perform post-procedure assessments.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the general direction of the Cardiology Nurse Manager, coordinates and provides patient care and assumes individual responsibility and accountability for the provision of nursing care as related to the Cardiology Department. Administers medications, monitors patient vital signs/EKG, performs continual patient assessment during patient’s stay in the Cardiology Department. Documents accurate nursing records and patient data. Coordinates patient teaching and post procedure assessment. Performs emergency cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Assists within service education. Collects and assembles data for data base, outcome analysis and performance improvement. Responsible to carry out any other activities assigned by the Cardiology Nurse Manager to assure the department runs effectively and efficiently. Responds within 30 minutes when on stand by and able to assist at other system Cath lab as needed.
