Job summary

Overland Park Regional Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Specialty Unit. Join a team dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a leading HCA facility in Kansas.

You will provide pre- and post-operative nursing care, collaborate with physicians, and advocate for patients to ensure an exceptional experience. Night shifts offered (3 twelve-hour shifts) with opportunities for growth and development.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of nursing school and licensed RN in Kansas or a multi-state compact.
  • Current BCLS; ACLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care in the Cardiac Specialty Unit.
  • Assess patient condition during admission and each shift.
  • Document the administration of care in the medical record promptly and accurately.
  • Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient response.
  • Collaborate with physicians and care team to ensure high-quality patient care.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Cardiac Specialty Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.

What you will do in this role:

  • Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
  • Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
  • Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.
  • Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.
  • NIGHT-SHIFT (3 12-hr shifts; 7P - 7A); exceptional opportunities for skill growth & professional development under supportive, dynamic leadership; manage complex cardiac conditions; supportive team & culture.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Graduate of school of nursing required.
  • Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation.
  • Current BCLS. Ability to achieve and maintain ACLS certification within 90 days of hire.
