Job summary

Overland Park Regional Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Cath Lab Float. You will provide patient care under the Cardiology Manager, monitor patients, administer medications, and participate in data collection and teaching.

The role requires Kansas nursing licensure, BLS on hire, ACLS within 6 months, and at least 1 year in cardiology. This position serves at OP Regional and Menorah Medical Center locations, with on-call responsibilities and a patient-centered care focus.

Qualifications

• Graduate of school of nursing required.
• Current Kansas nursing license required; BLS required upon hire, ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
• Excellent interpersonal and team skills required.
• Basic computer knowledge preferred.
• Minimum of one-year nursing experience in a cardiology related field required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and provides patient care under the Cardiology Manager.
• Administers medications, monitors vital signs/EKG, and performs ongoing assessment.
• Documents nursing records and coordinates patient teaching and post-procedure assessment.
• Performs emergency CPR and participates in in-service education.
• Collects data for database, outcomes, and performance improvement.
• Supports on-call requirements with <30-minute response time.
• Care provided at Overland Park Regional Medical Center and Menorah Medical Center campuses per Market Pool agreement.

Job Summary and Qualifications

• Under the general direction of the Cardiology Manager, the RN coordinates and provides patient care and assumes individual responsibility and accountability for the provision of nursing care as related to the Cardiology Department.
• Administers medications, monitors patient vital signs/EKG, and performs continual patient assessment during patient’s stay in the Cardiology Department.
• Documents accurate nursing records and patient data. Coordinates patient teaching and post procedure assessment.
• Performs emergency cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Assists with and participates in in-service education.
• Collects and assembles data for data base, outcome analysis and performance improvement.
• Must support on call requirements with an expectation to respond to emergencies in less than 30 minutes once notified.
• This position within the Market Pool provides care at both Overland Park Regional and Menorah Medical Center campuses, as determined by the Market Pool agreement and staffing assignments are subject to change based on facility staffing needs determined by Market Manager and/or administration.

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate of school of nursing required. Bachelor’s preferred.
