Job summary

Overland Park Regional Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse with Cardiac specialty to coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care and advocates for patients to ensure an unparalleled experience.

The role involves day shifts (3 twelve-hour shifts, 7A–7P) with opportunities for skill growth under supportive leadership, and a $10,000 sign-on bonus for experienced candidates.

Qualifications

• Graduate of school of nursing.
• Current RN license in state of practice or compact license.
• BCLS current; ACLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, reporting changes.
• Perform procedures as ordered by the medical provider and document care.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor response.
• Maintain knowledge of meds, procedures and equipment for cardiac patients.
• DAY-SHIFT: 3 x 12-hr shifts (7A–7P); pursue skill growth under supportive leadership.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Cardiac Specialty Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.

What you will do in this role:

• Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.
• Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.
• DAY-SHIFT (3 12-hr shifts; 7A - 7P); exceptional opportunities for skill growth & professional development under supportive, dynamic leadership; manage complex cardiac conditions; supportive team & culture.

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate of school of nursing required.
• Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation.
• Current BCLS. Ability to achieve and maintain ACLS certification within 90 days of hire.
