Job summary

Baptist Health System, Inc. seeks a Registered Nurse for 4G Cardiovascular, Thoracic Telemetry, nights. This full-time role focuses on post-op CABG patients, CHF and chest pain, delivering expert nursing care and care coordination.

The RN will perform rounds, assessments and treatments, facilitate admissions and discharges, and provide patient and family education in a high-acuity unit. Kentucky licensure required. The unit operates nights with a 20-bed telemetry focus.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky.
• Bachelor’s or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.
• ADN holders with <10 years’ experience must enroll in a BSN within 12 months and complete within 5 years.
• Basic life support certification within 30 days of hire if not already held.
• ACLS/PALS/NRP and dysrhythmia coursework as required by department.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, nursing rounds, assessments and treatments.
• Coordinate admissions, transfers and discharges on the unit.
• Deliver patient and family education and care coordination to develop individualized treatment plans.

**Registered Nurse:** __Cardiovascular, Thoracic Telemetry unit.

Unit Overview: 4G,Cardiovascular, Thoracic Telemetry unit.

4G is a 20 bed telemetry unit. This unit specializes in post-op CABG patients, post-op cardiac surgery, CHF and moderate risk chest pain patients. The population has multiple co-morbidities and complex care. The patient population is transferred from ICU, ED and PACU.

Shift: Full-time, Nights

Job Description:

• The Registered Nurse (RN) implements professional nursing practice centered on the patient as a whole person and the creation of a caring environment focused on healing and wellness.

• The Registered Nurse (RN) is an exemplar for compassion, acceptance, respect, and empathy honoring nursing as a distinct discipline and supporting an environment focused on healing and wellness.

• As a clinical nurse, this individual spends majority of his/her time (> 50%) coordinating, ensuring and providing direct patient care activities on the unit through: provision of nursing rounds, assessments and treatments; facilitating admission, transfer and discharge activities; provision of patient and family-centered education; care coordination and individualized treatment planning as applicable, etc.

Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required:

• Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky.

• Bachelor’s or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.

• Those with an associate degree in nursing and less than 10 years of experience must enroll within 12 months of hire in a bachelor’s degree program and musthave achieved the degree within 5 years.

• Basic life support- Applicants will have 30 days from their hired date to provide completion of this certification if they don’t have it already.

• ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of Assignment.
