Unit Overview
6B is a 23-bed med/surg/telemetry unit. This unit specializes in post-cardiac intervention, medical cardiology, chemotherapy, continuous EEG, and post-procedural patients. Staff receive specialized training for post-catheterization and Tikosyn initiation/administration. This population has multiple co-morbidities and complex care.

Job Description
- The Registered Nurse implements professional nursing practice centered on the patient as awhole person and the creation of a caring environment focused on healing and wellness.

- As a clinical nurse, this individual spends majority of his/hertime (> 50%) coordinating, ensuring, and providing direct patient care activities on the unit through: provisionof nursing rounds, assessments, and treatments; facilitating admission, transfer, and discharge activities;provision of patient and family-centered education; care coordination and individualized treatment planning asapplicable, etc.
Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required
- Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky.
- Bachelor's or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.
- Those with an associate degree in nursing and less than 10 years of experience must enroll within 12 months of hire in a bachelor's degree program and musthave achieved the degree within 5 years.
- Basic life support
- ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of Assignment.
