Job summary

Baptist Health in Lexington, KY, is seeking a Registered Nurse for PACU on the Third Shift in Surgical Services. The role includes assessing patients, developing care plans, and providing direct care with leadership responsibilities. A sign-on bonus of $15,000 is available for qualified individuals.

Requirements include KY RN licensure, a nursing degree (BSN or ADN), BLS certification (with 30 days to obtain if not already), and ACLS/PALS/NRP as required. Weekend/holiday on-call is required.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure and work permit in Kentucky.
• Bachelor's or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.
• BLS certification is required; must obtain within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS/PALS/NRP and dysrhythmia training as required by department.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate leadership skills and supervise assigned staff.

• Operating Room Nurses provide care and support to patients before, during and after surgery.
• Clinical decision-making incorporates all four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking and creativity.
• Must possess ability to supervise and delegate appropriate work to Patient Care Techs, Licensed Practical Nurses, Unit Secretaries, and Students.

Requirements

• Current RN licensure and work permit in Kentucky.
• Bachelor's or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.
• Applicants with an associate degree in nursing and less than 10 years of experience must enroll within 12 months of hire in a bachelor's degree program and must have achieved the degree within 5 years.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. If not already certified, must obtain BLS within 30 days of their hire date.
• ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of assignment.
