Baptist Health Lexington is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Surgical/Telemetry 2FG unit. This role provides direct patient care, coordinates admissions, and educates patients and families throughout the care continuum.

The RN will utilize clinical expertise and critical thinking to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care, focusing on safety, empathy, and evidence-based practice across the lifespan.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in Kentucky.
• BSN or ADN with 10 years' experience; if ADN, must enroll in BSN within 12 months and complete within 5 years.
• Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS/PALS/NRP and dysrhythmia class as required by department.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and implement nursing interventions.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team.
• Monitor and document patient responses, revise care plans as needed.
• Support a culture of safety, quality improvement, and compassionate service.

Full-time | 1st Shift (Days) | 12-hour shifts | 3 days per week

About 2FG

2F/G is a 30 bed medical surgical/ telemetry unit that specializes in telemetry patients and fast turnaround surgery including urology bariatrics, and orthopedic overflow. This unit serves our Bariatric Center of Excellence patients. Our patient population is mostly transferred from the ED and PACU.

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers compassionate, evidence-based care designed to support healing and wellness. In this role, you'll coordinate, ensure, and provide direct patient care while creating an environment rooted in dignity, respect, and empathy. You will use your clinical expertise and critical thinking to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care for patients across the lifespan.

As a clinical nurse , you'll spend the majority of your time (>50%) coordinating, ensuring, and providing direct patient care through:

• Conducting nursing rounds, assessments, and treatments
• Facilitating admissions, transfers, and discharges
• Providing patient and family-centered education
• Coordinating care and developing individualized treatment plans

Key Responsibilities

• Administer medications and implement nursing interventions in accordance with best practices and hospital policy
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated care
• Monitor and document patient responses, revising care plans as needed

• Mentor and support colleagues and new team members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment

Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required

• Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky
• Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited college/university or an associate degree with a minimum of ten (10) years' experience required. In lieu of a bachelor's degree and less than ten years' experience, an associate degree in nursing will be acceptable for initial hire with the understanding that the individual must be enrolled within 12 months in a bachelor's degree program and must have achieved the degree within 5 years.
• Basic Life Support (Must obtain within 30 days of hire.)
• ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of assignment.
