Job summary

Baptist Health in Kentucky is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Operating Room. This full-time role runs 6:45a to 5:15p, with four 10-hour shifts weekly. Call and weekend rotation are required.

The RN provides direct comprehensive perioperative care from admission through discharge, documents care and outcomes, and communicates with physicians and hospital teams. ADN required; KY RN license; ACLS and BLS within specified times; crisis prevention training within 6 months; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Current unrestricted licensure as a Registered Nurse in Kentucky.
• ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
• BLS required within 90 days of hire.
• Crisis Prevention training within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct comprehensive nursing care for the patient from admission to discharge.
• Review and document care provided and outcomes of care.
• Follow professional standards of care and prioritize care based on changing assessment and needs.

Reviews and documents care provided, outcomes of care, and evaluations of care. Follows the professional standards of care. Demonstrates ability to prioritize care based on changing assessment and needs of patients. Having ongoing communication with physicians and other departments in the hospital.

Requirements

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ADN) degree from an accredited institution.
• Current unrestricted licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Kentucky required.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.
• Must obtain Crisis Prevention within 6 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Recent experience in specialty preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited institution.
