Job summary

American Geriatrics Society invites applications for a Per Diem Registered Nurse in Med/Surg. This role is based in Evanston with per diem hours and night shifts (2300-0730) including weekends and holidays per level agreement.

Qualified candidates will hold IL RN licensure, NLN-accredited program graduate, BLS, NIHSS active certification, and at least two years of recent acute Med/Surg experience with telemetry proficiency. Per Diem Level options define weekly hours per schedule.

Qualifications

• Current professional Nursing Licensure in the State of IL required.
• Graduate of a NLN accredited school of nursing required; BSN strongly preferred.
• BLS Certification for the Healthcare Provider required. Must maintain an active NIHSS certification.
• A minimum two years of recent acute care clinical experience in med/surg required. Telemetry competence required.
• Telemetry competence must be demonstrated within 14 days of hire by passing online telemetry test.

Responsibilities

• Independently provide safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care for patients on med/surg units.
• Utilize the nursing process in planning, implementing, and evaluating the patient plan of care.
• Guide and direct assigned unlicensed assistive personnel in delivering interdisciplinary patient care.
• Communicate and collaborate with members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care.
• Positively contributing to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience.

Hourly Pay Range: $36.00 - $55.80 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Position: Per Diem, Registered Nurse Med/Surg Per Diem
• Location: Evanston, Hospital Primary, Skokie (secondary and subject to change)
• Full Time/Part Time: Per Diem
• Hours: Night shift; (2300-0730) weekend and holiday requirements per level agreement
• Per Diem Commitment Level: Per Diem Level 1: 32-72 hrs. or Per Diem Level 2: 73-110 hrs. or Per Diem Level 3: 111-144 hrs. per 6-week schedule
• Required Travel: Evanston Primary site, Skokie (secondary site - subject to change)
