Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health seeks a Mammography Technologist for St. Rita's Medical Center to perform screening and diagnostic breast imaging, including DEXA, per ARRT/ACR/MQSA guidelines.

The role supports the radiology team with accurate imaging, patient education, and adherence to safety protocols. Applicants should have ARRT certification in Diagnostic Radiology (and mammography registration preferred or within 1 year) and at least 1 year of mammography experience.

Qualifications

• Certification and Registration with ARRT in Diagnostic Radiology (required)
• Advanced modality registration in Mammography (preferred or within 1 year)
• State licensure (preferred)
• BLS from American Heart Association (required at hire for certain locations; preferred/required prior to independent patient care)
• 1 year experience as a registered mammography technologist (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Performs all breast imaging and DEXA procedures.
• Assists radiologist in invasive breast procedures with aseptic technique and consent.
• Correlates clinical history with procedures and documents information for licensed provider.
• Conveys patient history to licensed provider prior to examination.
• Operates breast imaging equipment and devices to achieve desired results.
• Selects radiographic technique exposure factors for quality images.
• Applies radiation protection principles to minimize exposure.
• Applies patient safety principles throughout mammographic procedures.
• Provides patient education and discharge instructions.
• Participates in the department's quality assessments and improvement plans.
