What We're Looking For

Barge Design Solutions is seeking a skilled and experienced Registered Land Surveyor to support a variety of complex and dynamic projects across multiple markets. In this role, you will independently manage and execute challenging geomatics and surveying assignments, delivering precise and practical solutions to support Project Managers, Engineers, Architects, Landscape Architects, and other stakeholders. Responsibilities
  1. Coordinate with various discipline leads on scheduling objectives and project milestones for large-scale geomatics and surveying projects.
  2. Approve complex deliverables and surveys by analyzing reports, programming, client requirements, and other relevant information.
  3. Sign and seal surveys, maps, and survey-related documents.
  4. Perform quality reviews of survey field activities, legal descriptions, maps, aerial photographs, calculations, and other project deliverables.
  5. Perform complex calculations.
  6. Act as project-specific lead for technical survey/geomatics work of others.
  7. Prepare computations and cost estimates using various software packages.
  8. Utilize GIS software to collect data, attribute features, produce maps, etc.
  9. Anticipate roadblocks and provide recommendations for resolution to ensure accuracy of survey work.
  10. Communicate with clients regarding specific projects and attend client meetings.
  11. Coordinate deliverables between clients, teaming partners, and other disciplines.
  12. Participate in project proposals as needed.
  13. Stay up to date with new methods, standards, regulations, and developments; recommend new practices or changes.
  14. Perform other duties as required.
Education & Experience Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited program.
  2. 4-8 years of relevant experience in Geomatics, Surveying, or related fields; 10 years may substitute for degree.
  3. Registered Professional Surveyor licensure (varies by state).
  4. Seasoned knowledge to resolve issues through experience.
  5. Extensive knowledge of GIS, Survey, and essential equipment.
  6. Resourcefulness and initiative in project execution.
  7. Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  8. Ability to work varying schedules and travel, including overnight stays.
Work Environment

Includes outdoor work in rough terrain, walking, sitting, standing, operating equipment, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Climbing and visual acuity are required.
