Job summary

Cura serves hospitals, senior living centers, and other long-term care facilities. We are seeking a Registered Dietitian to assess nutritional needs of patients/residents at John J Kane Regional Center - Scott in Pittsburgh. You will identify needs, initiate interventions, and improve quality of life in alignment with patient goals.

You will work with the health care team, adhere to standards and regulations, and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives within a facility setting.

Qualifications

• Passed the national examination administered by the CDR or meets the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics eligibility requirements.
• Completes 75 hours of continuing education every five years per CDR requirements.
• Licensed or certified per state requirements.
• Knowledge of regulation standards for comprehensive assessments, care planning, and residents’ rights.
• Ability to teach others about nutrition and dietetics.

Responsibilities

• Provide nutritional expertise to the health care team and educate patients/residents, staff or consultants.
• Follow the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics standards of practice and facility regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with other departments to set up procedures and policies in dining and nutrition.
• Actively participate in developing and revising quality improvement programs.
