Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma plus mandated state training courses.
• State-mandated certifications/licenses/registrations (e.g. radiograph exposure, coronal polish, ultrasonic scaling).
• Associate degree or 1-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentist to gain patient commitment for best treatment with urgency.
• Participate in creating a positive patient experience while addressing patient needs.
• Maintain a clean, sterile environment and prepare patients for treatment; assist doctors for efficient care.
• Take x-rays and intra-oral pictures as directed by the dentist.
• Instruct patients on postoperative and general oral health care.
• Sterilize and disinfect instruments and operatories per ADA guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal safety regulations and policies.
