Job summary

PDS Health is seeking a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to support dentists in delivering high-quality care in a fast-paced setting in Merced, CA. The role includes assisting with treatment, imaging, and patient education, while maintaining a clean, compliant clinical environment.

The position emphasizes chair-side skills, patient communication, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards; relevant state certifications/licensure are required or preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or one-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• Certifications/licenses/registrations as mandated by applicable state (e.g. coronal polish, radiograph exposure, ultrasonic scaling for orthodontic procedures, pit and fissure sealant application, etc).
• Equivalent to high school diploma or GED, and specified training courses as mandated by state for certification, licensure, or registration.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist to gain the patient’s commitment for the best possible treatment with urgency.
• Actively participate in the Perfect Patient Experience by tending to patients’ needs and concerns while keeping them focused on optimal treatment.
• Maintain a clean, sterile, and cheerful environment; prepare patients for treatment and assist the doctors to provide efficient, quality dental care.
• At the direction of the dentist, complete x-rays and intra-oral pictures of patients as appropriate.
• At the direction of the dentist, instruct patients on postoperative and general oral health care.
• Sterilize and disinfect instruments, equipment, and operatories per ADA guidelines.
• Maintain compliance with State, Federal, and other regulations (OSHA, HIPAA, ADA, DOL, etc).
