Job summary

Mercy Health in Oregon is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer Registered for the St. Charles Hospital department.

This role performs diagnostic, non-invasive and invasive cardiac exams using ultrasound to evaluate the heart, including TTE, TEE, and stress testing. The position requires an associate degree in a related field, BLS certification, and ARDMS/CCI credentials; EPIC EHR and PACS experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in an applied health science field with a concentration in cardiovascular technology, ultrasonography or other related study (preferred)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (required)
• Credentialed in echocardiography by RDCS or RCS (ARDMS/CCI)

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic echocardiography examinations using ultrasound testing equipment to evaluate the heart during Transthoracic Echocardiography, Transesophageal Echocardiography, and Cardiac Stress testing examinations.
• Demonstrates ability to proficiently perform non-invasive and invasive cardiac exams.
• Demonstrate knowledge of cardiac anatomy, exam procedures, and interpretation of results.
• Prepares and monitors patients before and during procedures.
• Utilizes the hospital electronic medical record to review patient information and document any critical findings.
• On call hours required.
