Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer Registered at St. Charles Hospital to perform diagnostic echocardiography exams, including transthoracic and transesophageal studies and cardiac stress testing, in a patient-centered environment.

The role requires an Associate degree, BLS certification, and ARDMS/CCI credentials, with on-call responsibilities and EPIC EHR/PACS familiarity. Mercy Health values compassion, integrity and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in an applied health science field with a concentration in cardiovascular technology, ultrasonography or other related study (preferred)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (required)
• Credentialed in echocardiography by RDCS (ARDMS) or RCS (CCI)

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic echocardiography examinations using ultrasound testing equipment to evaluate the heart.
• Demonstrates ability to proficiently perform non-invasive and invasive cardiac exams.
• Demonstrate knowledge of cardiac anatomy, exam procedures, and interpretation of results.
• Prepares and monitors patients before and during procedures.
• Utilizes the hospital electronic medical record to review patient information and document any critical findings.
• On call hours required.
