Job summary

Mercy Health seeks a Cardiac Sonographer Registered to perform diagnostic echocardiography at St. Charles Hospital.

The role covers transthoracic, transesophageal, and cardiac stress testing, with duties including patient prep, imaging and interpretation, and documentation in the EMR. The ideal candidate has an associates degree in cardiovascular technology and BLS certification, plus RDCS or RCS credentials.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in cardiovascular technology or related field (preferred).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (required).
• RDCS or RCS credential required by ARDMS or CCI.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic echocardiography examinations using ultrasound equipment to evaluate the heart during transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress testing.
• Demonstrates ability to perform non-invasive and invasive cardiac exams.
• Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac anatomy, exam procedures, and interpretation of results.
• Prepares and monitors patients before and during procedures.
• Uses the EMR to review patient information and document findings.
• On-call hours required.
