Job summary

Akua Behavioral Health operates a residential, all-women detox facility in California, offering comprehensive treatment and transition support to outpatient and aftercare services. The Clinical Technician role focuses on compassionate client care, safety checks, intakes, and medication observation within a licensed program.

The position requires RADT/SUDRC or RAC credentials, a CA Driver's license, and health screenings.

Qualifications

• License/Credentials: RADT, SUDRC, or RAC required.
• EMT/CMA/CNA with RADT/SUDRC/RAC encouraged to apply.
• Education: High School Diploma / GED or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Experience: 1+ years behavioral healthcare experience preferred.
• Additional: Valid CA Driver's License required; Health Screen and TB Test clearance.

Responsibilities

• Direct Client Care: support patients through daily activities and programming, appointments, and crisis intervention.
• Safety Checks: conduct regular rounds and safety assessments.
• Intakes & Discharges: lead patient intakes and discharges.
• Medication Observation: monitor and document self-administration of medications.
• Group Facilitation: participate in and facilitate group sessions (life skills, art therapy, outings, etc.).
• Documentation: record notes in the KIPU electronic medical record system.

Position: Clinical Technician

Type: Hourly, Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Compensation: $23 hourly

Benefits:

Available Shift:

• AM (6:30am - 3:00pm)
• NOC (10:30pm-7:00am)

Program Details:

This is a residential, all-women facility specializing in detoxification and substance use disorder (SUD) treatment. The program provides a structured and supportive environment to help clients achieve and maintain sobriety, while also facilitating their transition to outpatient and aftercare services for continued recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct Client Care: Support patients struggling with addiction and mental health disorders through daily activities and programming, appointments, and crisis intervention.
• Safety Checks: Conduct regular physical checks on all patients within care (a.k.a. "rounds").
• Intakes & Discharges: Play a leading role in patient intakes and discharges from the treatment facility, ensuring all clients feel comfortable and welcome.
• Medication Observation: Monitor and document client self-administration of medications in accordance with the facility’s policies and procedures.
• Group Facilitation: Participate in and facilitate applicable group sessions (e.g. life skills, art therapy, outings, etc.).
• Documentation: Take all required notes in the company's electronic medical record system (KIPU).

Requirements

Qualifications:

• License/Credentials: RADT, SUDRC, or RAC (required)
