Job summary

Veolia is seeking a traveling Wastewater Operations Technician to cover vacations and absences at multiple facilities in the region. You will train and develop local teams, ensure compliance, and support new account start-ups while troubleshooting processes and maintaining records. The role requires significant travel, often 1–2 weeks, up to a month.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google equivalent required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both verbally and written, required.
• Willingness to learn and be able take instructions on Wastewater treatment processes
• Operational experience of site specific equipment preferred, including:
• 3+ years of experience in Wastewater treatment plant operations or related field required. Ability and desire to build and maintain a 'team mentality'
• Prior experience in a traveling work role preferred

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete operational coverage of Veolia operated facilities in designated region during vacations and unexpected absences.
• Assist in developing training materials and coaching local technicians.
• Ensure industry standards and best practices are used across facilities.
• Support new account start-up projects with SWOT team.
• Troubleshoot process issues and optimize operations to meet compliance.
• Operate pumps and valves to regulate flow to the wastewater plant.
• Collect and test wastewater samples per testing frequency.
• Maintain accurate client data records.
