Job summary

Veolia is seeking a Wastewater Operations Technician to cover vacations and absences across multiple facilities. The role includes on-site operation, maintenance, training, and support for new start-ups, with significant travel expected.

You will assist with process changes, troubleshooting, sampling, and reporting, while developing training resources for regional technicians. Travel can range from 1–2 weeks to a month at times.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
• Strong mechanical aptitude preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both verbally and written, required.
• Willingness to learn and operate wastewater treatment processes.
• 3+ years of experience in wastewater plant operations or related field.
• Prior travel experience for work is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain operational coverage of Veolia facilities during vacations and absences.
• Develop local technicians through hands-on training and materials.
• Ensure industry standards in records, lab testing, and maintenance.
• Support start-up projects with the SWOT team and train new technicians.
• Troubleshoot process issues and assist in decision making.
• Operate pumps, motors, and valves to regulate wastewater flow.
• Collect and test wastewater samples and record data.
• Comply with safety programs and provide ongoing plant optimizations.
