Job summary

Veolia in the United States is seeking a Traveling Wastewater Operator to cover vacations and absences at contracted facilities across the region. You will support training, help start-ups, and ensure compliant operation and maintenance of plants.

The role requires significant travel, sometimes 1-2 weeks away, up to a month. You will supervise technicians, respond to issues, collect samples, and maintain records while coordinating with the SWOT team and Veolia management.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes.
• 3+ years in wastewater treatment plant operations or related field.
• Experience traveling in a work role is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete operational coverage of Veolia facilities in the region during vacations and unplanned absences.
• Develop and train local technicians; create or update training materials.
• Ensure industry standards and best practices are used; manage lab testing and record keeping.
• Support new account startups; collaborate with the SWOT team on tasks and goals.
• Troubleshoot process issues; coordinate with management on improvements.
• Operate pumps, motors, valves to regulate flow; collect and test wastewater samples.
• Prepare data for regulatory reporting and maintain SOPs; supervise team as needed.
