Job summary

ProAssurance is seeking a Regional Underwriting Supervisor to lead a team, underwrite a book of business, and build strong agent relationships. The role emphasizes leadership, development, and profitability across the Eastern Alliance workers' compensation book.

The position is hybrid, based out of Charlotte, NC or Ridgeland, MS, with opportunities to influence underwriting strategy and mentor staff while delivering excellent service to policyholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, insurance, or related field with five years of underwriting or underwriting management experience.
• Willingness to travel for industry/functions and to promote the company.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ability to learn new software.
• Advanced analytical ability for profitability decisions.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new and renewal business within approved authority and company guidelines; review financial statements and manage assigned accounts.
• Provide referral underwriting guidance and develop strategies for the unit.
• Mentor and manage performance; conduct annual reviews and salary adjustments per policy.
• Cultivate relationships with agents and policyholders; promote the company’s products and services.
• Review monthly reports and performance metrics; adjust as needed to meet objectives.
• Lead or participate in task forces; plan training programs and coordinate external presentations.
• Maintain a positive team environment; conduct regular meetings and ensure effective communication.
• Champion wellness initiatives and collaborate to deliver favorable outcomes.
