Job summary

ProAssurance seeks a Regional Underwriting Supervisor to lead a team in underwriting motor risk and growth across our Eastern Alliance book. You will underwrite accounts, manage agency partnerships, and steer performance toward profitability.

The role blends leadership with hands-on risk assessment and relationship-building across agents and clients. A strong analytical mindset and CPCU or comparable certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, insurance, or related field and five years of progressive experience in underwriting or underwriting management is required.
• Prefer workers’ compensation experience, CPCU, or advanced certification.
• Ability to travel as necessitated by business needs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Advanced analytical ability: ability to analyze and interpret information to make profitable decisions about risks.
• Attention to detail in processing information, establishing priorities, and meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite a book of accounts as assigned and develop and cultivate strong relationships with agency partners.
• Provide leadership to meet financial and operational goals and oversee day-to-day execution of underwriting team responsibilities.
• Develop meaningful professional development plans for team members and perform regular performance reviews and salary discussions.
• Cultivate internal and external relationships by visiting agents and policyholders and promoting company products and services.
• Monitor monthly reports and performance metrics to guide decisions and adjustments.
