Job summary

ProAssurance is seeking a Senior Underwriter to execute strategic underwriting initiatives within delegated authority, supporting revenue and profitability goals. The role emphasizes customer service, mentorship, and collaboration with agency partners, with placement for accounts $50,000 annual premium.

Hybrid work model in Charlotte preferred. The candidate should have 5+ years underwriting experience, a bachelor’s degree in business/insurance, and professional designations (CPCU/CIC/CRM)

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, insurance or related field is required.
• Eight years of industry related experience plus a CPCU, CIC or CRM designation can replace the bachelor’s degree.
• A minimum of five years of insurance underwriting experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze risks for new and renewal business within approved authority and profitability goals.
• Issue quotations, policies, renewals, endorsements, and required documentation timely and accurately.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with agents and clients through regular visits and communication.
• Coordinate with Inova programs and large deductible products as needed.
• Lead team meetings, renewal strategies, and stewardship reviews for large accounts.
• Monitor reports and drive alignment of underwriting objectives with company strategies.
