Job summary

ProAssurance is seeking a Senior Underwriter to execute strategic underwriting initiatives and support revenue goals across delegated authority. This role focuses on commercial underwriting and mentoring, with opportunities to lead on sizable accounts and collaborate with agents and internal teams.

Preferred location options include Charlotte, NC or Raleigh, NC, or Richmond, VA, with a Charlotte posting to report to the office two days per month.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, insurance or related field required.
• Eight years of industry-related experience; CPCU/CIC/CRM can substitute.
• Minimum five years of insurance underwriting experience required.
• Underwriting authority and strong relationship-building skills expected.

Responsibilities

• Analyze risks within approved authority for new and renewal business.
• Issue quotations, policies, renewals, endorsements and file documentation timely.
• Develop and maintain agent and client relationships for opportunities.
• Support retrospective rating and large deductible product knowledge.
• Lead teams in renewal and account management strategies.
