Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp. in the Meadville Service Center seeks a Line Supervisor to oversee employees engaged in complex construction, maintenance, repair, testing, and operation of the electric transmission and distribution system.

You will direct line crews, ensure safety practices, coordinate with other departments, and manage resources during emergencies and storms while upholding company standards and customer service commitments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 5-7 years' related work experience in an electrical field is required.
• Hazard responding, knowledge of construction and maintenance practices, procedures, work methods, materials, equipment, and tools.
• Advanced knowledge of operations, repair, and construction of transmission and distribution systems.
• Some supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to learn CREWS, SAP, GIS, Flex OMS, Empower and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to read/alter/communicate complex prints and specifications.
• Ability to coach and mentor others to excel in their roles.
• Knowledge of AC/DC circuitry and related equipment.
• Strong leadership and communication to direct work safely.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrating and directing a solid commitment to safety.
• Directing and supervising employees engaged in electric transmission and distribution line work.
• Directing line workers in installation of energized lines, transfers, and fault location.
• Responding to emergencies and coordinating service restoration during major storms.
• Monitoring activities and enforcing established work practices.
• Coordinating equipment, tools, materials, and supplies.
• Coordinating work with other departments and scheduling tasks.
• Providing strong customer service and internal communications.
• Counseling employees, addressing performance, and recognizing good work.
• Training line employees in established practices and methods.
• Administering absenteeism management and safety programs.
