Job summary

FirstEnergy is seeking a Line Supervisor based out of the Butler Service Center, with a 24/7 schedule to oversee complex construction, maintenance, and operation of electric transmission and distribution systems.

The role requires strong leadership, 5–7 years in an electrical field, and the ability to coach teams, read complex prints, and use CREWS, SAP, GIS, and Empower. Applicants must coordinate with other departments and emphasize safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 5-7 years’ related electrical field experience.
• Advanced knowledge of operations, repair, and construction of Transmission and Distribution systems.
• Underground experience is a plus.
• Some supervisory experience is preferred.
• Ability to learn CREWS, SAP, GIS, Flex OMS, Empower and Microsoft Office.
• Able to read, alter, and communicate complex prints and specifications.
• Able to coach and mentor employees to excel in their roles.
• Demonstrated knowledge of AC and DC electricity.
• Demonstrated leadership with safety focus.
• Willing to coordinate with other departments and respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrating and directing a solid commitment to all aspects of safety.
• Directing and supervising employees engaged in electric transmission and distribution line work.
• Directing line workers in installation of energized lines, transferring circuit loads, locating faults and directing cutovers.
• Responding and supervising resources during emergencies to support public safety and system reliability.
• Monitoring activities of employees and enforcing conformance to established work practices.
• Requesting and coordinating equipment, tools, materials, and supplies required.
• Coordinating work with other departments and scheduling construction, maintenance, repair, or test work.
• Demonstrating sound internal and external customer service.
• Counseling employees and recommending corrective actions.
• Implementing instruction and training of line employees.
• Administering absenteeism management and Regional Safety Plan.
• Other duties as assigned.
