Job summary

Scranton Regional Hospital – PRN is seeking a Telecommunications Operator who serves as the first point of contact for the public across multiple sites, routes calls to the appropriate departments, and initiates alarm, code, and on-call procedures according to protocol.

The Operator also acts as the regional transfer liaison, manages patient transfers via the Lynx System, and completes transfer reports while maintaining accuracy, courtesy, and calm under pressure.

• Ability to respond rapidly to code alarms while seated or after rising.

Responsibilities

• Be the initial contact for public assistance across multiple sites.
• Receive and route calls accurately and timely to the correct departments.
• Initiate alarm, code, and on-call procedures per protocol.
• Coordinate patient transfers and complete transfer reports in Lynx System.
• Serve as regional transfer liaison for the Center.
