Job summary

Graybar in Indianapolis is seeking a senior sales leader to exceed sales and gross margin budgets for the district. You will manage 7–10 sales reps, oversee accounts, and handle a minimum $4M annual budget while training others and guiding market growth.

Responsibilities include business-plan development, strategic coaching, and relationship-building with customers and suppliers to sustain profitability. Travel is required; compensation reflects experience.

Qualifications

• 5 years’ experience in wholesale distribution or progressively responsible business roles
• High school diploma or GED
• 9 years’ experience preferred
• Four-year degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Develop business plans for the assigned specialty market within the territory and work with sales staff to implement district plans
• Implement the sales management process with pre-call, post-call coaching, and set annual sales and gross margin targets
• Evaluate industry trends and identify opportunities and threats in the territory
• Build and maintain relationships with key customers and suppliers to protect and grow profitability
• Ensure recruiting, staffing, development, performance management, and succession planning within the territory
• Support tools and training programs to drive growth in the specialty business
