Location based: California, United States (Work from home)
Key responsibilities
- This position involves approximately 60% field work, including customer visits and attending exhibitions.
- Participate in global training sessions and stay updated on ChemScene's products and competitors.
- Provide technical support: train distributors and customers in academia and industry, visit and maintain key accounts, build networks with KOLs, and cultivate speakers.
- Offer technical advice to customers and partners/distributors.
- Conduct product presentations and customer training as needed.
- Manage local marketing activities to achieve annual sales goals.
- Communicate product information, prices, availability, and promotions accurately to customers.
- Attend exhibitions, scientific conferences, and trade shows; develop marketing campaigns; collect customer data; proactively manage booth exhibitions to enhance brand awareness and build customer contacts.
- Identify and approach prospective research and industrial customers to promote ChemScene products.
- Develop and maintain a key account/customer list with contact details and product usage information.
- Collaborate with global and regional teams on branding and marketing events.
- Gather market and competitor information, conduct market research, and share insights with the team.
- Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets through strategic planning.
- Maintain trustworthy relationships with clients through proactive follow-up and support.
- Engage with customers regularly, develop new contacts, and uphold professionalism and courtesy.
- Monitor industry discussions related to the company, competitors, and industry trends, engaging both existing customers and potential leads.
Required skills: Education/Experience
- Bachelor's degree or higher in chemistry, life sciences, biotechnology, biomedical sciences, pharmacy, drug chemistry, chemical biology, medical sciences, biochemistry, or medicinal chemistry.
- At least 3 years of sales and marketing experience in the drug discovery and life sciences market, with familiarity in customer visits and distributor channel management.
- Research experience in medicinal chemistry, biotechnology, drug discovery, pathway studies, or disease mechanisms.
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written, presentation), organizational skills, and proficiency with MS Office.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
- Capable of working under pressure.
- Self-motivated, disciplined, and responsible for meeting sales targets.
