Job summary

Securian Financial Group is seeking a Regional Sales Director to drive profitable growth across the employee benefits portfolio, including Group Life, AD&D, and Supplemental Health/Voluntary Benefits, within an assigned territory.

The role builds and executes a comprehensive territory sales strategy in partnership with the Regional Sales VP, cultivating strong relationships with channel partners and employers, and leading opportunities through the sales process to close.

Qualifications

• Proven successful sales experience within employee benefits, insurance, financial services, or similar complex B2B environment.
• Ability to generate and secure sales within mid-to-large employer market and manage complex, consultative sales cycles.
• Broad knowledge of group benefits and insurance ecosystem, with Life, AD&D, and Voluntary Benefits expertise; Disability and Absence Solutions is a plus.
• Proven professionalism and integrity with strong judgment and credibility.

Responsibilities

• Own and execute the territory sales strategy across Group Life, AD&D, and Supplemental Health/Voluntary Benefits to achieve profitable growth, sales, and market-development objectives.
• Develop and expand channel partner relationships within the assigned territory to increase market presence and pipeline.
• Generate new business opportunities through prospecting, partnerships, and employer engagement.
• Manage the sales process from identification through close, including RFPs, proposals, negotiations, and follow-up.
• Apply a consultative, multi-product approach to understand employer needs and position Life and Supplemental Health solutions.
• Collaborate with VP to develop priorities, coordinate sales activity, and deliver territory objectives.
• Develop competitive solutions with internal teams to navigate complex opportunities.
• Develop compelling sales presentations and measurable channel partner engagement strategies.
