Job summary

Atwell, LLC in the Western United States seeks a Regional Safety Manager to provide safety oversight across multiple field sites, visit projects, and partner with operations. You will conduct audits, train employees, manage incidents, ensure OSHA/EPA/DOT compliance, and drive safety improvements while traveling up to 90% and using a company vehicle.

This role has no direct reports but requires independent work, strong communication, and the ability to support approximately 200 field employees

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of safety experience in construction, utilities, or infrastructure.
• Experience supporting safety across multiple active job sites.
• Experience with safety audits, employee training, incident investigations, hazard identification.
• Working knowledge of applicable safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• OSHA 30, CHST, or related credentials preferred; willingness to pursue more.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety oversight and support for field employees across an assigned geographic region.
• Regularly visit project sites and field crews to maintain a strong, visible safety presence.
• Conduct safety audits involving personnel, equipment, job-site conditions, and work practices.
• Review safe work plans and help identify and mitigate potential hazards.
• Prepare and deliver safety training for employees and subcontractors.
• Support compliance with applicable safety standards and regulatory requirements, including OSHA, EPA, DOT-PHMSA, Railroad, MSHA, and other requirements relevant to the work being performed.
• Lead and support incident and injury investigations, including follow-up and corrective actions.
• Partner with operational leaders and project teams to integrate safety into project planning and field execution.
• Complete required field documentation, including Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Safe Work Permits, and related safety documentation.
• Promote consistent use of Atwell's safety tools, systems, policies, and processes.
• Identify safety trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement and communicate findings to Safety and operational leadership.
• Partner with other internal teams, including Fleet and Human Resources, as needed.
• Transport safety equipment and supplies and safely navigate active construction and industrial job sites.
