Job summary

Atwell, LLC is seeking an Associate Director of Safety to elevate field safety programs across a nationwide, dispersed team. You’ll oversee Regional Safety Managers, align safety strategy with project planning, and drive consistency in safety metrics and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate will have 5–10 years in safety leadership, hands-on field experience, and certifications such as CSP/ASP/CHST. Expect 50–75% travel and a remote US-based work arrangement with broad operational impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5-10 years of progressive safety experience, with 7-10 years preferred.
• Experience leading safety teams and coordinating across multiple sites.
• Experience in utilities, electric transmission/distribution, or infrastructure construction preferred.
• Professional safety certifications such as CSP, ASP, or CHST preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of four Regional Safety Managers across the United States.
• Create consistency and accountability across regional safety programs and reporting.
• Partner with operations and business leaders to integrate safety into project planning.
• Oversee incident investigations and root-cause analyses.
• Review safety performance and leading/lagging indicators to identify trends.
• Support risk assessments, audits, inspections, and corrective actions.
• Develop and communicate safety training, policies, and programs.
• Maintain knowledge of OSHA requirements and regulations.
• Visit field operations to stay connected with teams and field conditions.
• Communicate safety priorities to field employees and leadership.
