Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Safety Manager I to lead the Zero Injury Safety program across multiple project sites. You will provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to safety professionals, with a focus on electrical safety programming and hazard analysis.

You will review submittals, conduct trainings, and ensure OSHA compliance while traveling regionally up to 75-100%. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety, occupational health, or equivalent.
• Electrical program development experience.
• Minimum six years of construction safety experience.
• High school diploma with CHST Certification, OSHA 500, and 10+ years in construction safety.
• At least six years as a dedicated construction safety professional managing programs.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification preferred.
• Current driver's license.
• Strong organizational and task management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety software.
• Excellent communication and customer service with Mortenson policy interpretation.
• Excellent public speaking and presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 100%.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety oversight and leadership across multiple project sites.
• Lead development of site-specific electrical safety programs.
• Identify training needs and conduct safety orientation and electrical training.
• Review safety submittals and participate in meetings with subcontractors.
• Mentor Safety staff and Coordinators; provide direction.
• Track and analyze injury, hazard stats and OSHA reports; oversee data.
