Job summary

The Weitz Company in Texas is seeking a Safety Manager to provide safety leadership and ensure consistent application of company safety standards across an assigned region. You will oversee safety programs, deliver training, support preconstruction planning, and conduct jobsite audits and incident investigations.

This role requires working six days a week (58 hours) and may involve managing Project Safety Managers. Data center construction experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Four years of construction safety experience.
• Data center construction experience preferred.
• BCSP certifications (CHST, ASP, CSP) or applicable field experience in OHS/EHS preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and able to learn additional software.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety leadership and oversight for an assigned region and ensure consistent application of safety standards.
• Develop and deliver safety training and support preconstruction safety planning.
• Support site inspections and OSHA inspections; verify corrective actions.
• Ensure authority to stop work if unsafe and coordinate safety committees.
• Lead incident investigations and present findings for action by Safety Accountability Committee.
• Communicate safety issues and best practices across the organization.
• Perform inspections of all construction projects to evaluate compliance.
• Conduct industrial hygiene assessments (noise and air monitoring).
• Support proposal activities by detailing company capabilities and responses to client questions.
