Job summary

EPI Power, LLC, a subsidiary of The Weitz Company, seeks a Safety Manager to lead safety efforts for a Houston-area region. This role demands strict adherence to company safety standards, incident investigations, training, and field support.

You will guide project teams, collaborate with inspectors, and help implement a proactive safety culture across data-center construction sites. You will manage safety programs, lead training initiatives, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Four years of construction safety experience.
• Data center construction experience preferred.
• BCSP certifications (CHST, ASP, CSP) or related field experience in OHS/EHS required.
• Strong management and organizational skills.
• Effective communication and technical writing skills.
• Ability to speak in front of large groups.
• Proven leadership and mentoring abilities.
• NCCER, BCSP, OSHA 510/500 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety leadership and oversight for an assigned region.
• Lead implementation of safety programs and training in the field.
• Support site inspections by third parties and OSHA inspectors.
• Facilitate safety inspections and verify corrective actions.
• Ensure employees can stop unsafe work immediately.
• Coordinate Safety Committee activities and safety culture initiatives.
• Present incident investigation findings for action by Safety Accountability Committee.
• Communicate safety issues and best practices across the organization.
• Generate high-quality safety training materials.
• Verify incident investigations for completeness and accuracy.
• Inspect all construction projects to evaluate compliance.
• Perform industrial hygiene assessments (noise, air, etc.).
• Support proposals with company capabilities and client questions.
• Participate in creating project safety plans.
• Represent the business in OSHA hearings and related processes.
• Support administration of Vehicle Safe Driver Policy and Drug/Alcohol Policy.
