The Weitz Company is seeking a safety professional to join our Houston-area construction teams. You will help create and maintain project safety plans, monitor safety performance, and drive corrective actions across project teams.

Responsibilities include enforcing safety programs, facilitating safety committees, and conducting training to ensure regulatory compliance and safe work practices on site. Strong communication and organization are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of construction safety experience.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Excellent judgement and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships and coach project teams.
• Ability to resolve issues promptly and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the creation of the project safety plan.
• Track and trend project safety performance and recommend corrective actions.
• Verify project team adherence to safety processes.
• Assist project teams with enforcement of safety programs (letters, violations, meetings).
• Facilitate project safety committees.
• Participate in safety preconstruction meetings and planning.
• Conduct or facilitate project-wide safety training.
• Support regulatory safety compliance.
• Coordinate site safety inspections and verify corrective actions.
• Ensure authority to stop unsafe work until resolved.
