Job summary

Forward Air Corporation seeks a Regional Workplace Safety Manager to lead safety initiatives across transportation terminals, warehouses, and offices within the region. You will advance safety programs, ensure regulatory compliance with FMCSA, DOT, and OSHA, and partner with operations leadership to reduce risk and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities include incident investigations, training delivery, safety reporting, and collaboration with HR and Risk Management.

Qualifications

• Education in Occupational Safety or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive workplace safety experience.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, FMCSA, DOT compliance.
• Experience leading safety programs across multiple facilities.
• Willingness to travel extensively within region.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with FMCSA, DOT, OSHA, and other regulations.
• Develop, implement, maintain, and improve regional safety programs and policies.
• Partner with leadership to identify hazards and reduce risk.
• Conduct facility inspections, safety audits, and reviews.
• Lead investigations of injuries, incidents, near misses; perform root cause analyses.
• Deliver safety training to employees, drivers, contractors, and leadership.
• Analyze safety metrics to identify improvement opportunities and develop action plans.
• Prepare and present safety reports to regional and corporate leadership.
• Support new site start-ups and changes with safety risk assessments.
• Maintain accurate safety records and training documentation.
• Support emergency preparedness and business continuity efforts.
• Collaborate with Operations, HR, Risk Management and others on safety concerns.
• Stay current on regulatory changes and safety best practices.
• All other duties as assigned.
