Job summary

Forward Air Corporation is seeking a Regional Workplace Safety Manager to lead safety initiatives across transportation terminals, warehouses, and offices within the region. The role develops and enhances safety programs while ensuring compliance with FMCSA, DOT, OSHA and other regulations.

The position requires 5+ years of safety experience in logistics-related settings, with CSP/ASP/CDS or OSHA certification preferred. Travel within the region is expected as part of ongoing program delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a safety-related field is required.
• CSP/ASP/CDS or OSHA certification is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive workplace safety experience in transportation/logistics environments.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with FMCSA, DOT, OSHA and other applicable regulations.
• Develop, implement, maintain, and improve regional safety programs and procedures.
• Lead investigations and root-cause analyses of incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Deliver safety training to employees, drivers, contractors, and leadership teams.
• Analyze safety trends and KPIs; present findings and recommendations to leadership.
• Support emergency planning, incident response, and business continuity efforts region-wide.

Education

Undergraduate degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety or related field

Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or CDS or OSHA certification
