Job summary

Irby Construction Company is seeking a Regional Safety Director (Distribution) to lead safety programs across a designated region and ensure a safe work environment. You will audit operations, guide safety professionals, and drive corrective actions to improve incident outcomes.

The role requires strong knowledge of utility construction safety, leadership presence, and the ability to influence across projects and teams within a Fortune 500–backed organization.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of related safety experience and training; equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Safety, Health, Environmental preferred; equivalent work experience may be considered.
• Experience administering safety programs across multiple projects or jobsites, preferably within utility or construction operations.
• Proven leadership experience supervising, coaching, and developing safety professionals or field teams.
• Strong knowledge of occupational safety practices, incident investigation, corrective-action processes, and regulatory compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Administer and oversee multiple project safety programs within a distribution region.
• Perform audits and inspections of work areas and provide safety expertise.
• Supervise and develop Safety Coordinators and regional safety professionals.
• Audit jobsite safety reports and verify implementation of safety elements.
• Conduct and follow up on accident and incident investigations; ensure corrective actions.
• Track regional safety performance metrics and report to leadership.
