Job summary

Irby Construction Company, a long-time power-industry infrastructure builder, seeks a Regional Safety Director (Distribution) to lead safety programs across multiple projects in the assigned region. You will implement corporate safety programs, audit operations, and coach safety professionals to maintain a safe, compliant work environment.

The role requires at least 5 years of safety leadership, a bachelor’s in safety or related field, and a valid US driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of related safety experience and training.
• Strong knowledge of occupational safety practices and incident investigation.
• Leadership experience supervising safety professionals or field teams.

Responsibilities

• Administer and oversee multiple project safety programs region-wide per Corporate Safety Programs.
• Perform audits and inspections; provide safety expertise.
• Supervise and develop Safety Coordinators and regional safety professionals.
• Audit jobsite safety reports and verify implementation of safety elements.
• Investigate accidents and follow up with corrective actions.
• Evaluate safety professionals’ ability and coach as needed.
• Collaborate with leadership to implement strategic safety plans.
• Identify hazardous conditions and verify corrective actions.
• Compile incident data and reports per regulations.
• Assist with inspections and accompany inspectors when required.
• Support emergencies and fire protection/system audits.
• Track safety metrics and report to leadership.
• Align safety initiatives with production schedules and goals.
• Analyze incident impact and costs; propose improvements.
• Participate in regional operational reviews on safety performance.
• Establish KPIs for regional safety personnel and teams.
• Use data to identify risk trends and drive improvements.
• Adhere to company standards and perform other duties as needed.
