Job summary

Ministry of Justice in the UK seeks a skilled Probation Learning Manager to lead the delivery of Learning & Development across a region. You will oversee a dispersed team of Practice Tutor Assessors, mentor staff, and contribute to national learning priorities with the L&D Design Faculty.

The role requires driving CPD initiatives, aligning regional needs with centre priorities, and occasional national travel. Hybrid working is offered where possible.

Qualifications

• Mentoring/Coaching experience in staff management.
• Experience supervising and developing capability of teams.
• Ability to monitor performance against targets and drive improvements.
• Operational planning and deployment of resources to meet demands.
• Experience working under pressure and tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety and Equality management.
• Experience managing people through organizational change.

Responsibilities

• Implement probation qualifications and L&D activities, deploying resources to meet priorities.
• Collaborate with Learning Services to deliver national probation qualifications policy.
• Engage stakeholders to implement L&D priorities and address issues.
• Monitor learner progression and advise line managers and PTAs.
• Line manage PTAs and oversee HR policies incl. recruitment and appraisals.
• Lead on disciplinary investigations and HR processes as needed.
• Coordinate national L&D communications and promote NPS qualifications.
• Represent NPS at partnerships and development meetings.
• Work with Design Faculty to shape national training and CPD agendas.
• Maintain relationships with middle managers, HEIs, CRCs, and others.
