Job summary

Amazon's Global Engineering Services NA Design & Construction seeks a Preconstruction Manager to act as owner’s rep through preconstruction for Amazon facilities. You’ll drive site selection, design, permitting, and contract execution across multiple regions, coordinating with Real Estate, Design Engineering, Finance, and Construction teams to ensure timely permits and clean handoffs to Construction.

Travel up to 60% is required; relocation assistance may be provided.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
5+ years’ experience in architecture, engineering, construction management, or related commercial development.
5+ years’ project management spanning design to operation, incl. negotiation and procurement.
Experience in packaging, processing, or logistical facilities with complex equipment.
Ability to travel up to 60% within assigned regions.

Responsibilities

Independently manage cross-functional industrial pre-construction projects from site selection to contract execution.
Coordinate with Real Estate, Design Engineering, Entitlements, Construction, Finance, and external parties to scope, schedule, and deliver permits.
Lead site selection, validation, and design management while adhering to Amazon's standards.
Manage multiple large projects across locations and track budget, schedule, and cash flow.
Review contracts and pricing with developers, general contractors, and design consultants.
Prepare status and risk reports for leadership and ensure clean handoff to Construction Manager.
