Job summary

Amazon's Global Engineering Services NA Design & Construction seeks a Preconstruction Manager to independently lead cross-functional industrial projects from site selection through design, permits, and contract execution. You will partner with internal and external teams to define scope, budget, and schedule and ensure regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include leading site validation, design management, and KPI-driven performance across multiple locations, while coordinating with vendors

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience as Architect, Engineer, Construction Manager, Development Manager, or related PM role.
• 5+ years of project management experience from design through operation, incl. contracts.
• Experience in packaging, processing, or logistical facilities with complex equipment.
• Travel up to 60% (Nationwide).

Responsibilities

• Independently manage complex cross-functional industrial preconstruction projects from site selection through design completion, permitting, and contract execution.
• Lead site selection, validation, scope development, and design management per Amazon standards.
• Manage multiple large projects across locations; drive timely decisions and remove blockers.
• Identify and resolve upstream issues to ensure smooth handoff to Construction Manager.
• Track KPIs for safety, quality, cost, schedule, and sustainability.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to secure resources and set milestones.
• Prepare and present project status and risk reports for leadership.
