Job summary

Texas Vision Associates seeks an Area Doctor to promote consistent, efficient primary eye care across multiple locations. You will perform optometry duties while coordinating doctor onboarding, mentoring, and clinical adherence.

You will manage doctor schedules and serve as a clinical liaison across districts to ensure patient-first service. The role involves travel to district offices, collaboration with HR and Clinical Services, and participation in monthly calls and district meetings.

Qualifications

• O.D. degree with state license and TPA certification required.
• Minimum of 2 years of practicing optometry preferred.
• Supervisory or management experience in a multi-office environment preferred.
• Strong communication and attention to detail; ability to influence others.

Responsibilities

• Oversees Doctor Satisfaction and Retention in their assigned area.
• Performs onboarding, clinical orientation and mentoring for new doctors.
• Supports recruiting in interviewing and hiring new doctors; attends recruiting events.
• Conducts peer and chart reviews to ensure adherence to clinical protocols and patient care.
• Prepares and manages monthly schedule for all doctors in the district.
• Provides input on updates to clinical manuals and practice documents.
• Assists with selection and development of Optometric Technicians when applicable.
• Maintains regular communications with doctors, Clinical Services, and retail brand colleagues.
• Travels as required to various locations to observe patient flow and ensure efficiency.
