Job summary

Target Optical is seeking a Managing Optometrist to serve as clinical lead across a defined market. The role blends direct patient care (about 70%) with leadership duties, coaching, scheduling, and supporting a team of optometrists.

You will drive clinical excellence, oversee doctor schedules, support recruitment and onboarding, ensure regulatory compliance, and coach colleagues to improve exam growth, patient experience, and loyalty.

Qualifications

• OD degree and active state licensure required.
• Strong leadership, communication and coaching skills.
• Experience in multi-location or regional leadership preferred.
• Passion for patient care, team development and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive eye exams and high-quality patient care.
• Coach and support optometrists across the market; review performance.
• Lead onboarding and mentorship for new doctors; recruit as needed.
• Manage doctor schedules and approve PTO with 30 days' notice.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and company guidelines.
