Job summary

Eyeglass World is seeking an Area Doctor to promote consistent, efficient primary eye care by doctors of optometry across multiple locations. The role includes onboarding, mentoring, and coordinating doctor schedules while supporting recruitment and clinical standardization.

The position requires an O.D. degree with a valid state license and TPA certification, plus 2+ years of practice and supervisory experience. Some travel to district sites is expected as part of district leadership.

Qualifications

• O.D. Degree with state license and TPA certification required.
• Minimum of 2 years of practicing optometry preferred.
• Supervisory or management experience in a multi-office environment preferred.
• Strong verbal/written communication abilities; effective interpersonal skills.
• Some travel is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversees Doctor Satisfaction and Retention in their assigned area.
• Performs initial onboarding, clinical orientation and mentoring for newly hired doctors.
• Supports Recruiting in interviewing and hiring new doctors; attends recruiting events as needed.
• Conducts regular peer and chart reviews; supports adherence to clinical protocols and patient satisfaction.
• Prepares and manages monthly schedule for all doctors in the district; ensures coverage across offices.
• Drives input for updates to clinical manuals and practice documents.
