Job summary

National Vision is seeking an Area Doctor to promote and facilitate primary eye care delivery across multiple doctor-owned offices. You will supervise doctors, onboard new practitioners, and support recruitments while maintaining high clinical standards and patient satisfaction.

The role involves coordinating schedules, performing regular reviews, and acting as a clinical liaison to ensure efficient, patient-centered care across the district. Some travel is required.

Qualifications

• OD degree with state license and TPA certification required.
• Minimum of 2 years of practicing optometry preferred.
• Supervisory or management experience in a multi-office environment preferred.
• Strong verbal/written communication abilities and interpersonal skills.
• Able to interact with and influence others effectively.
• Develops, sponsors, or supports new methods, products, procedures or technologies.
• Excellent organization, planning, judgement, and time management skills.
• Some travel is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversees Doctor Satisfaction and Retention in their assigned area.
• Performs onboarding, clinical orientation and mentoring for newly hired doctors.
• Supports Recruiting in interviewing/hiring new doctors, including attending recruiting events.
• Conducts peer and chart reviews to support adherence to clinical protocols and patient satisfaction.
• Presents monthly schedules for all doctors in the district and ensures coverage across offices.
• Prepares and submits monthly reports to Clinical Director and Clinical Services.
